blue kipper
Apparantly 'global glaziers are melting.' Could this have anything to do with the closure of PVC Windows?
monkey_magic
That's a pis5 poor joke, and trying to pass the blame onto a radio station will not work.
sideways
Maybe if there were no English (large mountain , not mentioning any names) glass firms over here running english reg vans ect then maybe just maybe PVC windows might still be here??? Mission
Shoprite seem to cope with the likes of Tesco and Morrisons though. You can't blame the English for everything.

Sounds about right to me.
Cret
I heard about the yanks agreeing that the world needs to do something about global warming before it's too late, and then George Bush promptly turning round and saying something along the lines of "but we don't like your proposals so we're not going to join in". In other words "We don't see why we should have to get cars with only 3 litre engines instead of the 7 litre ones we're used to".

monkey_magic
There's a finite amount of fossil fuel on the planet, which mankind *will* use until it's all gone. It probably won't make much difference to the planet if the USA carry on as they are and we do it in 30 years, or if they ease off and we do it in 60 years. It's still going to happen. It's a really selfish attitude of them, but the planet's going to end up knackered whatever they do.
Speckled Frost
A deeper concern is that China, the fastest developing world with the biggest population, is not only exempt from the Kyoto targets but they have even been given leeway to produce more pollution. RC-Drift.com
We should be more concerned for ourselves not the planet Earth will look after itself as it has done for hundreds of millions of years, the atmosphere will warm up, as an end result we will all eventually be history, the atmosphere will eventually cool down again and it'll be the turn of the next lot of survivors to crawl out of the oceans

sideways
“Everest built our conservatory and did other work for us, very professional and top quality materials, oh and guess what, all local labour from start to finish.” Yes but the money you paid went off Island, ok a percentage of it stayed in the pockets of the men who actually fitted the windows but the real money went back to England. I feel strongly about companies coming over to the island and not playing by the rules, they have been working on the island for a long time and they haven’t even got their vehicles registered here. What good are companies like that to the Manx economy? edit missed a bit out !
