What are we disagreeing on? I completely agree. If you feel you want to get back at your company through sabotage then I would think the more clandestine efforts are sensible. You don't want to get caught.

I'm sure when you eventually get a job you'll feel differently
Oh Ans, what are you whittling on about? I don't know if its the Isle of Man insular understanding of the outside world in particular respect of students or maybe people are so clueless so choose stereotypes, but the fact I have such opinions and do have things to produce for university (which I suppose makes me a student) does not mean I DON'T work. I have worked at three finance companies (and work in one now) and a number of retail stores. I have quite a good idea of the world of work. And experience doesn't make a bit of difference to recognising how things work in society!

I've been thinking about ways to get back at your former employer, and i have some suggestions for the handbook:

1. put a potato in the exhaust of your former boss' car. (classic)

2. fill the basement of your former place of work with mashed potato to cause an infestation of badgers.

3. make a potato clock and use it in a bomb against your former place of work.

4. place a potato under your former boss' mattress to make it lumpy and uncomfortable.

That's all i can think of for now.

What are these other methods? Perhaps we could write a handbook, "How to get back at your former employer".

It doesn't really effect other people's jobs; they might get the rest of the day off work after being evacuated from the building while the sledgehammer rampage goes on, but who's going to complain about that?

All in all its pointless really though isn't it? smashing property than can be replaced, by this company who earn billions???

Is it worth a possible criminal record (criminal damage?)

Prawn's in filing cabinet?

Creating havoc with company accounts?

No1 "potato in exhaust of boss' car" does seem the best though.....

But I thought you didn't agree with the capitalist idea of wages? You must work for free, right?

And since when was KFC called a "retail store". That's stretching it.

Although an utterly stupid thing to do, this has been blown out of all proportion. There was no 'wrecking spree' threatened - HSBC were giving away some equipment to staff on the closing day and he thought it'd be a good idea to smash up the office computer he had his name down for once it had been signed over to him and that's it, nothing more sinister.

When you consider LDV's belief that "The very situation of waged workers is one that is marked by inhumanity, especially when they are actually treated as dispensable units of labour without consideration for their needs." I don't find it surprising he has had a number of jobs.

Of course, so easy to make a living.

Hmmmm... can't hold a job for very long, eh?
No, I have employed for more than one week in a job, I keep breaking out into song with the International, keep planning subversion in the workplace, and 'sabotaged' a whole chicken in KFC, but I enjoyed it.

If you want to talk about me, we can. Aside from your assumptions, obviously nobody who holds socialist views is going to be outspoken about them in the workplace. That would be foolish. But there seems to be an implication that the phrase you have marked in italics is just an opinion of mine. It is more like fact.

Does the fact that you have to hide your views from your peers not give you an inkling that you're a complete nutjob with little sense of reality?
