Ramsey Old Swimming Pool Building.

Seems like there are a number of proposals for the old pool building, however, in a letter this week the town clerk (and chief executive apparently) declared thus;

"The commission will be considering the various proposals and the decision in respect of the future use of the premises will be made public once it has been made."

So, that's it then, no consultation and no say in the future of what could be a very beneficial building for the townspeople. 'The commission' will make up their minds and tell us that we like it.

If there are any Ramsey commissioners reading this forum could you let us have a peek at what we're going to be paying for?

Aye, that's democracy.

They have as good as stated they're going to sell it, just curious what we will be getting.

They will have to declare what it is sold for. You will find out soon enough I suppose.

"The commission will be considering the various proposals"

Is this not the consultation part of the process? People suggest what they could do with it ('various proposals'), then they decide which option is best. That's kind of how this works isn't it? They ask the ratepayers - and anyone else with an interest - for some ideas, then choose one.

Ramsey commissioners have to be the most inept on the Island, it seems to go with the territory.

Dunno - based on the utter fuck-up that appears to be happening with the Ballawattleworth Estate planned through-road and the new sewage works, the current crop of Peel commissioners would probably be able to give them a run for their money.
