As much as his views are awful what is worse is having him face fines and possibly imprisonment for just saying what he thinks.

Does he really think it and hold those views, or is he just trying to raise his profile? There is enough historical and physical evidence of the Holocaust to convince anyone. If you go to someone else's country and say something publicly that is deeply offensive to the local population, to say nothing of breaking their law, you can rely on getting on the wrong side of them.

But that really isn't the point for me. He should be able express his ideas and opinions freely on this.

i understand and support the need for freedom of speech - the old "I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". All I think is that people like this Bishop and David Irving show themselves to be deluded and offensive - and that most people would ignore them and their rantings.
