slinkydevil
But while they are employed by BA they appear to want to fight for what they should have. What 'should' they have?
newaccount
Good on the union for sticking at it.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11606220 BA to restore some crew travel perks British Airways has said that it will restore basic travel concessions to cabin crew who went on strike earlier this year. The deal, which gives staff 90% off the cost of air travel, will be resumed on 26 October. The issue of travel concessions has been one of the main grievances between BA and the Unite union in the long-running and bitter dispute. BA cabin crew have already staged 22 days of strike action this year. Unite has been calling for the restoration of travel concessions removed from strikers, and the end of what it claims to be the victimisation of members. BA had already said that it would reinstate travel perks if union members agreed to vote in favour of its latest settlement offer. The airline has now made the concession ahead of a union vote
Cambon
Good on the union for sticking at it.... Well, kind of. Woodley was mortified when they voted against the last BA proposal as it was better than Unite had agreed with the workers. BA have nearly lost the plot a few times since. Plus the reinstatement of BASIC perks is conditional on Unite and their legal action, plus it is entailed with good behaviour clauses. If the workers vote not to accept the latest proposal, I think BA will sack the offending cabin crew, who are basically just those who fly long haul out of Heathrow. In other words, of the 12,000 cabin crew, this whole issue is being caused by a couple of hundred, who if they are not careful will be applying for jobs on Easyjet. Even Unite are sick of them!!!
