The End Of Console Gaming?

Will we see new consoles from the big players or will on-demand gaming be the future? Personally I think it's a good few years off being popular, but in theory I like the idea of being able to hook into processing power that is somewhere else, straight into my TV or monitor.

Does this mean I don't have to go into Game in Strand Street? Get in there :)

"OnLive relies on video compression technology, which instantly streams video via the internet so if feels like the game is playing locally.

The reality is that all the heavy lifting is done by remote data centres."

I can't see it as that much of a threat, if you read the site it is so far USA only and requires a high speed broadbband, also if a lot of people use this via one local server the lag will become so bad it will be useless to anyone having less than a T3 line as well as the fact it will eat away at bandwidth which I am sure isp's will cash in on.
