Squeeze Songwriter Next

Triskel

Recommended Posts

Not wishing to hog the main news pages and I appreciate this is more a music subject but as there has been so much interest in Katie I thought those who dont look at the music forum often should be aware .....(I didnt start the Katie thread but thanks for interest/support etc) - Triskel's next gig should not be overshadowed as any fans of the classic Squeeze days will be lucky to catch one of the leading British songwriters around:

CHRIS DIFFORD-one half of classic songwriting duo Squeeze plays 2 intimate and unique concerts at the Centenary Hall Peel. Anyone who captured the magic of these songs as delivered by Triskel's first gig with Glenn Tilbrook will be aware how powerful these songs are.Chris brings a 4 piece acoustic band to Peel on Th 31 March and Fr 1 April for what will be two very special shows.

Support will be local as always.

Ben Dunderdale, talented half of Fait (and supported Deacon Blue last Aug) plays the Thursday slot and will offer several new original songs never played live before.

Dave Knowles, guitar prodigy and member of local blues trio Back Door Slam (and nomadic member of Creamy Heads) plays the Friday slot and has a wonderful set to be played out acoustically featuring classic and originals alikeprior to the bands opening headline slot on the Main Stage of the Laxey Blues Festival

Tickets have shifted very well but as the venue is intimate ,capacity is small and we dont expect tickets available in the final week of sale.

Only available from Celtic GoldCeltic Gold or Black and Blue

I am pleased to say most of the tickets have shifted for both nights for next weeks concerts. Matt Deighton who supports Chris on guitar is something of a name himself having fronted Mother Earth and been Paul Weller's guitarist for 5 years. He also stepped in to play on one of Oasis's US tours. He will be playing a couple of original songs during the 90minute set which has been described as "wall to wall hits". I am also pleased to hear Chris is attempting to get over his fear of flying(he arrives by ferry) to get down to London Saturday 2 April to be a live guest on Jonathan Ross's show on Radio 2! I hope he can boast 2 full nights of enthusiastic fans to chat about to Jonathan and reflect what a great music loving public we are.....enough from me!
