Billy One Mate
Just wondering if anybody could confirm or deny that the MEA are now seeking to borrow a further 50 million to complete the works!!!!! Also if this is the case is it also true that this is to be repaid by increasing electricity costs by 5% above the rate of inflation for the next five years. And I suspect this would be met by profit retained through cash flow and not by way of further bonds or loans? If the profit margin is too thin then there’s your answer. FCMR
http://www.iomonline.co.im/ViewArticle2.as...rticleID=964436 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A Mr Cuningham from Braddan got turned down at planning for the same thing. I may be wrong on this but I think the MEA have some sort of clause on personel electricity generation, emergency use only

Then apply for retrospective planning permison and then go to appeal and if all else fails get Dandara to do the plans for you. Alternativley claim that it is a new rotating satelite dish and doesn't need planning permision
Billy One Mate
It is so pleasing to note that nobody is concerned about future increases in the cost of our already inflated electric !!!!!!!!! This is becoming very serious.
TheTool
What is far more of a problem is 1 in 5 people is employed by the government now that is scary. The government don't see a problem giving their money away after all 65% of the islands income comes from the uk from VAT, so whats a few million between friends lol
