When lit they can soar to over a mile in the sky and are visible for up to 20 minutes on a clear night, the lanterns are increasingly being mistaken for marine distress signals. sheswiththeband Posted October 6, 2010 Share Posted October 6, 2010 you can buy them from the Health Food shop on Bucks Road, it never looks open and its next to the MSPCA charity shop. i think you do have to inform the coastguard when you do light them off though. Jac Posted October 7, 2010 Author Share Posted October 7, 2010 Hello Again Sorry for not getting back sooner. Computer issues Many thanks for letting me know where I can purchase these lanterns. The information is appreciated since I was struggling to find them anywhere locally. However, I did remember today that they sold them in Toy Master, so I asked about them but they had none available until Halloween. Another big thank you as well for the information regarding mistaken distress calls and causing problems for the coastgaurd. That information was very helpful and I appreciated it being explained to me as the last thing I would want to do is cause issues which can be easily avoided.
