Stavros
From: IOMONLINE "THOUSANDS of parking tickets may have been wrongly issued the Department of Home Affairs has admitted. In a shock announcement the department has confirmed as from today (Thursday) parking controllers will have their title changed to traffic wardens and will change uniform. It comes after the DHA discovered the title parking controller does not match the law giving powers to traffic wardens. That means tickets issued by parking controllers since 1989 may be invalid and could be challenged - with a possible bill of more than £3 million. Anyone with an unpaid ticket issued by a parking controller does not have to pay the fine. The five traffic wardens, as they are now known, were barred from issuing any tickets on Wednesday. The problem does not impact on tickets issued by police officers. From 4pm anyone with inquiries can call the DHA on 694318" Edited: Sorry, I've only just noticed THIS Stav.
