Self-Destructing Bacteria Heals Cracked Concrete

I don't trust this stuff. Bio-engineering for simple problems such as cracked concrete is a terrible idea. Remember the American Crayfish that was brought over to England to control river beasts or Giant Hogweed plant that was introduced to firm up railway sidings. Not clever.

The point of biological pest control, or any form of control, is to eliminate a pest or situation with minimal harm to the ecological balance or homeostasis. In my opinion, it generally makes a much worse mess.
