cjard Posted March 19, 2011 Share Posted March 19, 2011 Hi I'm looking for some kind of graphics card that will go in one of these slots: (I've not used desktop PCs in several years, no idea what some of these slots are, it was PCI and AGP when I last opened a case) Only stipulation is it needs a DVI port so i can get a cable to link to the HDMI connector on the TV Not particularly fussed about performance, it's for movies only, not gaming Cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Snowflake Posted March 19, 2011 Share Posted March 19, 2011 i can also see by your picture that you have a BTX motherboard and that its a dell. your motherboard will only be PCIEX16 v1.0 and not 2.0 although the newer cards will still work. you will not be able to change your board so when choosing a card u may as well stick with v1.0 unless u plan on building your own system later. all cards nvidia 8800 and less or AMD ATI HD 2xxx series or less are all v1.0 compatible. before choosing a card google pc power calculator and check it against the power rating on your PSU.
