Earthquake Predicted In The 70S In Rome Today

So someone may - or may not - have predicted that there would be an earthquake in Rome today.

There wasn't one.

 

No one predicted an earthquake in Southern Spain today.

There was one.

 

Yes....ermmm... really freaky. :blink:

Quite close though on a world scale.

There are over 1300 magnetude 5 earthquakes a year.

 

That's over 3 a day worldwide. The distance from Rome to this area of Spain is 1300 odd kilometers - its not that high a probability that there would be an earthquake within such a radius when they occur with such frequency.

It's probably a testament to Spain's poorly constructed and primarily masonry buildings than anything else.
