If you enjoy an evening (or afternoon) of Amateur Drama Comedy and fun, you'll enjoy Rushen Players next production,

California Suite' which is three linked playlets from Neil Simon’s “California Suite”. Combining humour with compassion, this justly famous play is set in Suite 203 of the same hotel (THE BEVERLEY HILLS HOTEL CALIFORNIA)and features successive occupants of the suite.

Visitor from New York, introduces Billy and Hannah Warren. Hannah, a bright, feisty, ambitious and successful magazine writer meets her ex husband Bill after nine years. Their daughter Jenny has run away from New York having decided that she wants to stay awhile with her Father who fled to California for a quiet life. Words fly like spears!

Visitor from Philadelphia deals with the dilemma of businessman Marvin Michaels as he awakes with a colossal hangover to discover a voluptuous unconscious blonde in his bed, wearing only Marvin’s pyjama jacket. With his wife Millie on her way up to the suite, he’s in serious trouble unless he can find a way to conceal all traces of his uncharacteristic indiscretion. The fun is in the increasingly ridiculous ploys he uses to prevent his wife discovering the blonde.

The Visitors from Chicago, Mort and Beth, Stu and Gert seem to have nothing in common and are the most unlikely of friends who are on the holiday/vacation of a lifetime. Things deteriorate rapidly, though, when Beth is hurt during a tennis match and Mort accuses Stu of having caused her injury.

The audience is in for a highly enjoyable experience with sparkling, witty plays and with pathos amongst the often quick fire
