Barrie Stevens
You need a fire arms certificate now for an air-rifle dont you. Unless it has changed you need an IOM regulated weapons certificate for such as air rifles and pistols and crossbows provided that they (The air or CO2) weapons are under 12ft lbs for a rifle and 6 ft lbs for a pistol....anything over this and you need a Fire Arms Certificate and this latter is the same as the UK. However, in the UK you can still buy air/CO2/compressed air weapons over the counter without certification if they are under 12 ft lbs and 6 ft lbs respectively for rifle and pistol. The dealers do however take a note of your name, address, ID and the number stamped on the gun..(But this is a sort of convention) You need permission to carry weapons on the Steampacket. Air and CO2 weapons are still legally firearms and if you carry them without legitimate purpose they can do you (Or shoot you as might be a Brazilian electrician).... MilitantDogOwner
You need permission to carry weapons on the Steampacket. Indeed, whenever I go to an Airsoft site in the UK and take my own gear I have to inform the Racket a fortnight before and fill in some paper detailing what I intend to carry. Yeah you need to give one but you just tell them your on the isle of man and they will then recognise you dont need one, as we are not tied to the same UK laws
wideload
Link them to this article on the IOM gov website which states the IOM position on imitation firearms. http://www.gov.im/dha/police/firearms/moving_storage.xml And remind any retailer that the VCRA is a UK Law not an IOM one.
