Do the DSS give you the rent money, or do they pay direct to the landlord? I'd have no qualms about such tenants, after all one only needs to collect the rent, one isn't obliged to socialise by lazing around with them watching Jeremy Kyle all day. Whilst politely avoiding mention of the curious stains on their 'tracky bottoms'. OMG let me get this right, I could get me a council house, go on the dole and the government would give me rent money & I could decided not to pay my rent to the council if I felt like it....That is mad. Libran90 Posted October 12, 2011 Share Posted October 12, 2011 It can be organised so that the rent goes directly to the Landlord but if you do fall into the category of 'low lifes' then theres a chance they can receive the money on the promise of paying the rent and end up keeping the money and unfortunately theres not alot the Landlord can do about it... If so, I'm not sure "blowing" it on Christmas goodies could be described as a "spree". And if they want to go cold as a sacrifice for thus, surely that's their business ? It's Christmas, after all.
