wrighty Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 In common with other faiths' holy books, the koran, written down and copied by a process of Chinese whispers several hundred years ago, is full of inconsistencies, and various sects interpret it as they see fit. So whereas one bit will tell you about the sanctity of human life, another bit will tell you that the penalty for apostasy is death. And that's not to mention the so-called satanic verses, where to explain away some of Mohammed's more obviously inconsistent ramblings, islamic scholars explain that he was possessed by the devil.
