Would somebody mind confirming the Incinerator's

  • Maximum Capacity
  • Minimum Throughput for Efficiency
  • actual current throughput

I assume all these figures exist and are readily available ? I'd like a look too.

An even better idea, why don't we collect our idiot politicians and burn them instead? Would be a whole lot better for the environment and our pockets! Then again they probably wouldn't burn being that dense!

As Mupster sort of suggested, why can't we have a collective Government? Who knows, Manx Forums could be the start of a real IOM collective where everyone has a vote and input on the issues that affect us all!

We have the oldest Government in the world. Shame it's also one of the worst!

It's time for a change...... Bring on the revolution......

Waste oil is being charged for to ship off Island, is it now being burnt off down at the incinerator ;)  ;)

I assume that the incinerator has the non-standard features needed for the safe burning of waste oil?

It’s nasty stuff.

We tried to dispose of two transit van loads of waste wallpaper at the incinerator last week but got turned away for not having a tipping permit. Why refuse waste when they are begging for it.

That's good isn't it? An example of recycling methinks.

There are lots of ways to recycle waste oil, burning it in the incinerator not being one of them, the point is that local garages are being charged a huge amount of money for disposal of waste oil by the government via "Metano Containers Limited" who are supposed to take the oil off Island in special alloy containers for recycling purposes, if the oil is being burned at the incinerator, the garages are being charged for a service that is not being provided.

This was asked in Tynwald last week

The wasted energy plant as I like to call it, is another of our governments recent total f**k -ups.

None of us wanted the ugly monstrousity in the first place, knowing that it is much better for the environment to recycle our waste.

Now with this thing, we're stuck with a huge bill to pay it off, ridiculous costs to keep it running, even though it was a total waste of our money in the first place.

Incinerator, Power Station, IRIS, total lack of drainage at the new hospital, the old wedding cake building - is our government actually capable of getting anything right ??

I'm so sick of hearing of one government f**k-up to the next, why o why is the IOM being run by a bunch of senseless muppets??

And whatever happened to John Rimmington? - He was quite into his "green" politics a few years back - did he sell out when he became a member of the government??

Agree with you 100% Matty

Let's do it!
