So, how is Superintendent Okara?

I haven't seen it since the crash.

Has he Had a Personal Crisis/Turned to Drink/Killed someone/had Comfort Sex with a Colleague/Shouted Loudly at Everyone/Lost the Plot/Lost his Keys?

Like every other character has in the last couple of years.

And how is Gina? Still struggling bravely on? Has Smithy saved her life yet?

And Debbie has gone - just like Hayley - hit the the big time, never to return. No loyalty

What a farce, closing the promenade and roads around the Villa, why don't they have the meeting in the Nunnery or somewhere where it won't cause havoc, you won't even be able to walk along the prom footway, (will have to look at the tide tables to see if the beach is under water). Can you imagine people staying in hotels on central prom taking a detour via Victoria Road, and all the traffic clogging up the arches and Palace Road ?

I trust they will be compensating the shopkeepers in the area for loss of income

just plain S T U P I D !

BLAIR TO ATTEND POLITICAL GATHERING?

SOME of the most senior political figures in the British Isles will be in the Island next week.

The Island is hosting the seventh summit of the British-Irish Council on Friday for the first time the council has met here.

It is possible newly-returned UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will attend, although that may not be known for sure until hours before the conference starts.

At the last summit, hosted by Guernsey last year, Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott attended in place of Mr Blair.

Government representatives from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Jersey and Guernsey will appear alongside Manx politicians.

Senior figures such as Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Scottish First Minister Jack McConnell may also attend.

It is expected each member will send health department representatives as the subject is telemedicine, the issue handed to the Isle of Man to develop when the BIC was established.

Coming so close to the UK general election the event will attract massive media attention if Mr Blair does attend.

Precise details of the event cannot be released because of security fears and it is likely the most senior figures will only be in the Island for a few hours.
