Frances
Morning boat today now cancelled thus the build up of freight (and usual pressure re Xmas shopping) will lead to slow loading over next day or so and yet more delays to timetable - more wind is promised for weekend and it would appear it is the direction rather than the speed that is blocking the new boat
monasqueen
According to Manx Radio - "The 8.45am crossing from Douglas to Heysham has been called off due to forecast adverse weather. Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain." So it cancels for rain now. Postal services are at a standstill, as well as newspaper (and other) supplies. Frances
the on-line page hasn't changed however there is a very major change between this morning's shipping forecast and that issued at 4pm today - this latter would suggest that there won't be a boat til Sunday given that even 'occasionally gale force' is enough to cancel the boat. There needs to be some explanation as force 7 with occasional gale force is fairly common and surely the boat was designed to meet this weather - the Ben carried on, sometimes quite uncomfortable but at least it ran.
