Parties to negotiate and arbitrate. What's the goal though? Can't see the SPC backing down on live on board in some shape.
Fred the shred
It is a fair point regarding DOI though, how long have they been aware we were getting a new boat and yet scratching around at the last minutes sorting the pier out , pretty unbelievable. Seems that both the harbour works issue and the live on board issues have been known about since the boat was ordered from Korea.

Parties to negotiate and arbitrate. But it's not quite sure that is going to happen. The Gef piece actually says: A spokesperson said: ‘Following discussions with officers on board, the Company has agreed to continue to work with all parties on a proposal to resolve what it sees as the outstanding issues. ‘As a result of the above the Company has indicated it will withdraw the notice letters sent in December, in exchange for Nautilus agreeing to repudiate industrial action with immediate effect. Now it's not clear what they mean by 'repudiate' or what they expect from the Union. Which may explain the Union's rather terse response. The best they can hope for is suspension.

I wonder if it has some technical meaning under the legislation, given that the Union has also used it in the above letter.

Yes, it’s under s.20 of the Trade Union Act. Repudiation by the union protects it from a civil liability claim in case members continue action unofficially. 1
