Some of us would maybe rather they came here, spend a few quid then fuck off home pronto. No need o keep them here.

 Failing that, not come at all.

Great in theory, but the 'spend a few quid' comment gives the game away - The Island cannot survive without those 'Few quids spent' - and the rest of the world knows it.

The power lies with those with ' a few quid to spend' not with those who need it spent. Twas ever thus.

We can though. Do the math.

Joking aside, straight question Dilli,

Do you think that you attitude will;

a) Increase the 'outside' income take, or

b) Decrease it?

If you mean "your", then yes.

 I want to see people come here to appreciate what we have to offer, rather than come here to see people die at high speed.

In training for a breakdown.  It’s been over due for a few days now.

The tides plus High Pressure building might cause a problem.

Tide tables are built on Chart Datum which is the lowest mathematical level. Next week, according to The Admiralty, low tide will be approaching that level.

Air weighs something. Think a cubic metre of atmosphere at sea level weighing about 1.2 kilos. This weight vairies according to air pressure. So the pressure used in tide table predictions is set at 1013 sillibars (hPa). The UK experiences pressure variations of around 925 to 1050 hPa. A quick "rule of thumb" calculation is that each hPa change equates to a 1 cm change in sea level.

So high pressure of 1043 hPa will mean a low tide a foot lower than predicted.

Just to up the confidence levels the tide heights issued by Ronaldsway seem to be about a metre different from those issued by The Admiralty. For today the next high tide is predicted to be 5.7 metres and 4.9 metres respectively....

Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT) to be pedantic.
