SPCo announcement

Following the successful completion of sea trials, Manxman’s official handover to the Company will take place in Ulsan, South Korea, on 10th May. Manxman will be made ready to depart for UK waters by 12th May. It is thought the delivery voyage will take approximately 30 days, followed by a stop on the South Coast of England for final fittings. The day Manxman sails on the Irish Sea for the first time is coming closer.

This is great news. I blame the DOI.

That will be when the time gets further and further away and bills get bigger and bigger.

I expect Chris Thomas' To Do list is already five pages long with just a single line entry for each item.

No, it’s 5 pages already, and he still hasn’t managed to finish writing the first item

Ooops.

Manxman set off for Heysham at 5pm yesterday with an ETA of 5pm today. First 7 hours was spent sailing up and down the coast so it could be in the right time and place for the fireworks at 10.30pm.

since then she has been doing Irish Sea trials, handbrake turns, emergency stops, loop the loops, man overboard procedures, figures of 8 across to Heysham.

Didnt get in. Not sure if they didn’t want a ding, paint scrape, or it was just too windy to manoeuvre.

Now on her way back to Douglas

Not an auspicious first Heysham berthing trial.

And now she has turned around and is headed back to Heysham, after getting halfway back to Douglas. Being chased by Ben. No time for a berthing trial this evening.
