Maybe if there was a little more communication and transparency from SP, people might be a bit more understanding and sympathetic. It needs to be kept warm and engines run up to insure critical systems are running and lubrication of engine parts and systems. As such the boat needs to able to be moved to another berth, or moved out to sea as, when and if required. He is then pulled up quickly by a bit of twine wrapped round his foot - in-turn, rotating the shaft and starting the engine.
