CallMeCurious
https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/manxman-picks-up-award-for-worlds-best-and-most-innovative-vessel/ "It is a credit to everyone in the company and we are proud of designing, delivering and operating such an excellent vessel, which is the largest, most-modern and best-equipped ferry the Island has ever had." Should f-ing hope so it was only put into service last year. And if it's the best equipped how come it can only run at reduced capacity in the winter? Or not stick to a timetable if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. Presumably they didn't mention the duff gearbox that delayed delivery? Or having to modify two harbours at a cost of millions to accomodate its excellent design? Probably one of those schemes where you pay for membership at diferent levels and get some award (best boat with an 'X' in its name) almost guarenteed for the top tier. Wonder what the award next year will be? At least Brian got a nice certificate for his office wall.

Poor bugger...I'm guessing the midwife slapped his mother.

In which it was the only entrant...?

Or not stick to a timetable if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. And all shall have prizes. Despite Manx Radio saying it was "best and most innovative’ roll-on roll-off freight and passenger vessel in its class", you can see there really aren't any categories, they've just given something to every ferry completed in the year. Even the citation in the Shippax Awards, which rather charmingly take place on an actual ferry, this year shuttling between Stockholm and Tallinn, sounds slightly WTAF: Surprising features of MANXMAN include balcony cabins (else rarely found onboard ferries, all the more on relatively short crossings), the Paws Pet Lounges and the Executive Club Lounge with its outstanding mixture of sofas, armchairs, table seating and fully reclining sleeping pods. She also dedicates much space to families. Despite a relatively modest size she manages to combine entertainment, room for families and quiet spaces. But I suppose you can't deny it's the most modern, it's the most "best-equipped" if you look at all those "surprising features", and it's certainly the largest. Which may be a lot of the problem.
Amadeus
It’s PR. The racket boss is probably happy he can report any positive news. I didn’t even know he could smile until this story. He’s no Hamish Ross that’s for sure.

Don’t use the name Hamid Ross in the same sentence as the present CEO, this clown is in the same league as David Dixon, bring the company to it’s knees
John Wright
Did my first overnight sailing with cabin today. Was onboard before 01.00. Asleep before left Heysham. Accessible cabin. Comfortable. Two observations. Design error in having chair access via red stairwell at front of boat and then put the accessible cabins at the rear. Bed is far too high. No way a paraplegic could transfer from chair to bed unaided. Mattress is about 20 cm above standard chair seat height.
