yet for some reason buying a boat with a draft that fitted the harbours and tides we had wasn't an option.

What would be the point of getting a boat that was limited as the Ben? The Manxman is fantastic. It would be dumb to have a smaller boat.

That Condor moment.

Certainly interesting that the venture capitalists have reduced their stake to below 50%. Condor may not have been the money spinner they hoped.

Of course the CI routes are up for tender with new operator agreement from 25 March 2025. It’s between Condor and DFDS.

Its strange, looking at the various company returns for condor, both in England and the CI, with twice as many ships, more passengers carried, higher fares, their turnover across group appears less, fuel and wages costs much less, and tonnage costs non existent. It’s been odd for a long time.

Brittany Ferries have acquired 51% of Condor

Brittany ferries are spending money like it's going out of fashion. Two more new boats due February 2025. We are on the new St Malo next year. Was expecting the Bretagne so I am assuming that is being retired. LnG hybrids.

They rent the boats from Stena, they do have options to purchase at certain stages during the charters. So they’ve not spent much.

I suspect their increased shareholding in Condor won’t have cost much, either.

Yes, Bretagne which was launched 1989 is being scrapped. 35 is old for a ferry.

The 2 new boats, St Malo and Guillaume, are shortened versions of Stena e-flexer design to fit St Malo and Ouistreham harbours.

If they’re anything like the three Spanish route boats, Galicia, Santona and Salamanca they’ll be very comfortable.

Manxman fits existing harbours.

Stena, operating out of Heysham, has just ordered 2 new SeaMax boats that, at 147m, are another 14m (45 feet ) longer than Manxman’s 133m
