Burn it!

How pathetic. What is it you get out of this Forum, other than to use brainless comments on everything. Mabye that's all you are capable of, if so I'm sorry for you. I think

Never mind the disruption how much did this exercise cost the taxpayer? there must have been 40 DOI fellows working today, no doubt all on overtime. Its time someone should be taken to task on making such a decision to try and run a practice considering the weather forecast.

Just read on the police twitter that one of the people involved in the accidents was drinking and driving, ouch, wouldn't like to be them.

Manxie44 Alibaba is one of the few posters whose posts I like, chill yer boots kid.

The IoM Constabulary have an excellent Facebook page devoted to the crazy antics on the roads. There have been dozens of comments posted there today protesting about the immense disruption that this so called Festival causes. Surely it is time to realise that the disruption being caused to ordinary folk, is simply unacceptable?

If the IoM Government are really concerned about road safety then the Mountain Road should be closed for the next two weeks. In the short term that will without question, save some lives this year. In the long term if will deter the lunatic fringe (who have no interest in the TT, they just wish to use the 'race track') from ever coming back.

So you dislike the disruption of the TT & want to close the mountain for two weeks because of it.

I think perhaps you just like whinging!

Thereby disrupting the lives of thousands of people who have no interest in the TT.

How very dare anyone disrupt you? Not being able to use ones car for a short time must have been horrific, harrowing and traumatic. The organisers should provide counselling for all involved.

The organisers should provide counselling for all involved.

And some form of payment to compensate them for being self centred assholes.

With the current chaos on the Mountain Road, it would be easy to dismiss all bikers as complete idiots. However, this is not the case. The following was posted on TT Forums by 'saltire' a few hours ago ...

To make the TT happen every year we need the locals onside. If they get fed up with the minority of idiots who think it's OK to treat the Manx roads as their own private racetrack on open public roads then their opinion may change on whether the TT is worth it.

The majority of people visit to watch the professionals race, and people crashing on the roads delays races. It's OK folk having fun on the circuit when the roads are open, but sensibly without endangering others. Otherwise I can see them bringing in speed limits for the TT fortnight to discourage the minority whose speed outruns their talent.

There have been a couple of spills on the mountain already. In fact one has closed the mountain road now. You only have to look at replies on the IoM police Twitter and Facebook pages to see the local residents are not exactly happy already, and the fortnight has barely begun.

Well said saltire!

The problem is that the 'minority of idiots' and unlikely to heed your warning. They are unlikely to heed any speed limit. The only way to sort this problem out is to close the Mountain Road NOW. That will save a fortune in setting down and picking up cones. It will also save lives.

The 'minority of idiots' will have a frustrating two weeks, and are very unlikely to come back.
