When Skies Are Grey
Great another thread started with mindless tittle tattle...there is an unhealthy interest in gossip on this Island. If only we all lead such a blameless life as to be beyond public reproach.
manxman8180
And here was me thinking this thread was about what I was going to do with my cash when I have to sell to Glazer. I think I'll go with slinky and buy a cooked chicken.

slinkydevil
Manx Radio stated this morning that the MEA want to borrow a further £50 million to stay afloat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have there been floods? The Manx Electricity Authority says it needs another £50 million to stay in the black, according to Treasury Minister Allan Bell. He gave the figure in a written reply to a House of Keys question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran. Mr Bell says the MEA is forecasting the shortfall over the next five years, and Treasury officials are still talking to the authority about the state of its finances. He says it is not yet clear whether the money is really required and, if it is, how it would be paid to the authority. So it might be, it might not - bit of non news then... Lonan3
Someone (?) has spent £80k on a new car - so what? Are we meant to feel aggrieved? Envious? Disgusted? Or are we just meant to mutter something about money being able to buy everything except good taste? It's hardly a matter of public concern or debate when it comes to the way people spend their money is it? I mean a guy called Glazer has just lashed a fortune on an unsuccessful football club! Then there may be a need for another £50M to be borrowed - or there may not! Sorry, but this thread's a bit like any local resident on a wet Tuesday night in winter - it just has nowhere to go!
