There was a shooting in a crowd mall in Portland, Oregon just a couple of days ago. And the shooting involving the NFL player the week before that.

Suffice it to say, Republicans are saying its not guns that are the problem...well...its certainly not tennis rackets.

After that batman shooting they were all saying this isn't the right time to be talking about gun control. I would think after some nutjob has just killed a load of people with guns is probably a good time to talk about it

Notoriety . The media's obsession with these events simply paves the way for the next one.

Thommo2010, I think you'll find it does get talked about but neither side ever budges. However you should have a read of the below link, despite popular belief mass murder can and will always be accomplished by persons with evil intent, no matter what law you pass. Its really a laughable notion when you think about it and nothing will change until people realize it. Targeting the 'tools used' is ineffectual.

According to data compiled by Grant Duwe of the Minnesota Department of Corrections, guns killed an average of 4.92 victims per mass murder in the United States during the 20th century, just edging out knives, blunt objects, and bare hands, which killed 4.52 people per incident. Fire killed 6.82 people per mass murder, while explosives far outpaced the other options at 20.82.

Thanks for the advice.

There are very real rumblings of civil war in the US at the moment and a lot of them are coming from 'patriots' who do not like what is happening to their country from the federal government. The vast majority of these individuals are lawful gun holders who are joining forces in patriotic movements and they need to be disarmed as a matter of urgency before they retain the ability to self govern in their individual states. Make of these very convenient mass shootings which are coming thick and fast what you will......expect the right to bear arms as a constitutional right to be attacked very soon.

You do realise the right to bear arms was created when flint locks and black powder rifles were the weapons of the day?

I dont think it was designed to cater to the nutjobs with enough AK-47's in their shed to re-arm the entire Soviet Bloc....for hunting purposes you understand....

A gun never killed anybody.

I must say it all seems very convenient. And before anyone screams conspiracy, look up the ATFs gun walking scandal to see how desperate the American government is to create gun crime figures to try and justify further ineffectual restrictions.

True, just the nutbag with a large collection of guns, knives and homemade explosives.
