Southern Nomad rugby player and Port Erin Marine Laboratory undergraduate student Pete Grime suffered an horrific accident just before Christmas 2004 which has left him permanently disabled from the waist down. As you can appreciate this is extremely difficult for a young person (22 years old) but particularly for one who enjoyed all sport and especially rugby, so much. To assist his recovery his fellow students have organised a friendly fundraiser challenge match between Marine Lab students/staff and the Southern Nomads, with the aim of raising at least £2,500.00 to provide Pete with a sports wheelchair.
