Thomas Jefferson
We can be sure of one thing. If the pretty young white girl turns out to be a suicide bomber or cut throat murderer it will get blanket coverage on the BBC. Who on this planet seriously believes that only white girls can be "pretty"? Nobody -- lleast of all the politically-correct media.

Nobody said that only white girls could be pretty. The world is full of beautiful women of all races. Isn't that wonderful? Yes, it is, which raises the question as to why the political correctness police always resort to the "pretty white girls with blonde hair and blue eyes" red herring any time the issue of racial/ethnic/religious profiling is brought up. It is not racist to say that a pretty white girl with blonde hair and blue eyes is unlikely to be a terrorist --- it IS unlikely that she'd be a terrorist. But F statistical probability; let's just get the government to harass everyone as an equally likely Al Qaida operative (not to even mention the fact that it's now on record that our own governments are working with Al Qaeda in Syria). Spot on. They learned nothing from Afghanistan in the 80s and what that led to, and now they are doing it all over again. I suppose that they expect gratitude from these people and future influence in the region. They won't get it of course. And these sneering, "enlightened", superior liberals who live pampered lifestyles think they know what is best for Europe and the world. Maybe they do. But it will only come to pass in their utopian imaginings.

According to the interwebs, it's Cornish but of Germanic origin and means "bold friend".
woolley
Yawn Unfortunately, that is the reaction throughout history of the majority of the population where a civilisation is in peril for its existence. “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Thomas Jefferson.

Nevertheless, its meaning remains poignant.
