hagar the horrible
Hi Anyone know who handles 'My Hermes' parcels on the Isle Of Man?
manx-person
I had one of these the other week; It was a day later arriving than it was meant to be, I seem to recall that it was Manx Indepdendent Carriers. But they only did IM1 post code deliveries, all of the others were done by the IoM post office, dont ask me why...

Gizo
Post Office don't do Hermes. Manx Independent do IM1 as it is the Douglas area which is cost effective for them, unlike having to send vehicles all over the island for about 50p per item. BigDave
They're mostly freelancers I think.
woolley
Dirt cheap services give you the service you pay for. Bit like the Amazon "super saver" free delivery which can take a long time.

I actually spoke to Hermes, and they gave me the post office number. The post office then told me that they do all deliveries on the Island apart from IM1. They could be wrong of course, but thats what they said.
Fossils
The Post Office are wrong, unless the cheaper than the Post Office delivery and pick-up service is done for them round here by a pleasant lady in a large family car. Primator
I've sent a PM with the phone number of one of the local Hermes delivery agents.
j2bad
Hermes, are the freelancers, my child's birthday present was delayed over 2 weeks because they 'lost it', I contacted the sender and demanded a replacement, they informed me that they no longer had that item in stock though would replace with a more expensive alternative, needless to say the sender shot a rocket up Hermes UK and the following day the original item was 'left on my doorstep'. jim
They seem a bit random to be honest, some times good some times very slow, guessing it depends if the agent is heading down south or not. I think someone on here said in the past that it all goes to Manx Indies and the agents collect from there. Annoyingly the web site tracker thingy tells you things have been delivered when they haven't.
sarahc
My Hermes stuff usually gets delivered by a man with a big car, once it was by Manx Independent Carriers, I think that was a heavy item. I think it is fairly random. The man does Yodel too if I remember right.
collinsmeister
We have an old man in a little bedford rascal style van down south. think they have people they pay 50 odd pence a delivery so sometimes they can sit on it for a while til they have enough worth delivering.
