Albert Tatlock
Funny old thing that carried him off though. A couple of people I've known have died of the same thing in the last decade. A good few years before their time. The number of UK cases has been increasing and I think they do not know why yet, as it could be down to several issues/causes. Moghrey Mie
Where's everyone passing on to or are they just dead? Apparently Dennis Drower (a well-known local atheist) contacted Manx Radio and told them to announce when he was dead. He did not want to 'pass away' because he reckoned he wasn't going anywhere. La_Dolce_Vita
Yeah, as I would prefer. Though I don't think most people use it to refer to going to some other place. I think they just have a silly idea that stating someone is dead is rather abrupt or inappropriate. It's weird how we try and step around difficult or upsetting issues with odd turns of phrase. Lonan3
The members of my family are aware that my preference for a tombstone epitaph is: 'Not resting. Not sleeping. Definitely dead.' whether or not the powers-that-be will accede to my wishes remains to be seen.
