homarus Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 Local Cambodian news this morning reporting 7 people died after one by one when entering an freshwater drinking well. The tragedy initially began when a local man accidently dropped 3000 Cambodian Reil down the shaft. After climbing down to retrieve the money he was overcome by noxious fumes and died in the well,one more man climbed down to try to rescue him he also died .Then a woman tried to rescue them she also died , and on it went until 7 people lay dead inside the well. 3000 f**king reil. Amadeus Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 It is tragic. I think Cambodia is probably one of the poorest Asian countries at the moment, certainly poorer than here. Merkin Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 I loved Cambodia as a place and would recommend it to anyone but saw some pretty desperate poverty. Large parts of the country have no access to running water or regular electricity. The land mines that were left there by the retreating Khmer Rouge continue to cause devastation.
