prospero
Want to take an item from home in Ballaquark / Farmhill area down to Douglas Corporation dump (Civic amenity site). Item is old big computer. Weight = 50KG. Measures about 3foot x 3foot x3foot. Should fit in back of transit van. Item on wheeled trolley, so minimal lifting. I can help with that. Best that van not high-sided. Will pay £25 for what should be no more than 45 minutes work. Maybe more, but not a lot. Bascally if you have a van and are in that area, get in touch. Contact me on 627585. I have seen the ads for man&van in the Courier.... I scanned the classifieds on this forum for man&van...
j2bad
Does it have a screen? if so they charge you £6.50 to dump now, but the best bit is you have to go to the town hall to pay it first.
AcousticallyChallenged
I'm quite curious as to what sort of computer it is.
GD4ELI
Same here - some of this old stuff is quite valuable for spares.
prospero
An old IBM AS/400. Worth nothing. Found man&van. Paid £6 debit card at site for separate monitor. Topic closed. Thanks. I thought the Courier-advertised man&van rates a bit steep.

slinkydevil
Damn. I would have paid £1000 to put this in my IBM AS/40 museum. Oh well.
GD4ELI
You may think it's worth nothing - I assume you checked eBay?
