Thomas Jefferson
It's the sound of chem-trails settling gently on the ground. No, but it could be some kind of sound frequency to keep people docile. It would certainly explain a lot.

AcousticallyChallenged
It's actually being broadcast so that the frequency has harmonics that are almost undetectable by digital equipment but registered by the human ear subconsciously. They decode to something along the lines of "Toilet Tax Good, Sefton Good, Newspapers Baaaaaad"
The Border Terrier
Mangles? You're showing your age. I bet them young 'uns will be googling mangle as we speak . My grandma had a mangle out in the yard. And before you ask I don't recall her catching anything personal in it although we did laugh. They used to be a constant source of serious hand injuries, although a little bit before my professional time. Moons ago, my elder sister got her hand trapped in one. It was manually operated...by herself! Oddly enough she doesn't share my enthusiasm in sharing the story with her offspring... TBT.

dilligaf
I live near the old hospital. Exactly this droning hum every night. Have always presumed it's equipment (industrial dryers perhaps) running. Upside is that along with the high pitched tinnitus I have no room in my head for those voices. The old hospital is only about 1/4 mile from Pully power station and a couple of years back that drone could be heard in my father in laws house in Hillside Ave.

Presumably when she died? She wasn't Auntie Mabel. As I was walking down the street one day I saw a house on fire There was a man, shouting and screaming at an upper-storey window To the crowd that was gathered there below For he was sore afraid Jump! You fucker, jump! Jump into this here blanket what we are holding And you will be all right He jumped, hit the deck, broke his fucking neck There was no blanket Laugh?! We nearly shat! We had not laughed so much since Grandma died Or Auntie Mabel caught her left tit in the mangle We are miserable sinners Fi-i-ilthy fuckers Ahhhrrrr-soles The Late Great Derek & Clive
