RecklessAbandon
Took a few days away, and it looks like the hasbarat cheques have been coming thick and fast for some posters. Despite all the damning evidence that the Israeli government is planning on occupying and settling land stolen in Gaza, footage and images of children being melted in aid tents that have been bombed and continued attacks on peace keepers - there is still support for this to continue. I thought the Brexit thread brought out the worst in some people.

HeliX
Mind you there was a foiled joint Israeli & Palestinian assassination plan on Ben Gvir using a rocket launcher.

You do talk some hairy sphericals sometimes. It's not a "holy war" in any way, shape or form. The Persians in Tehran fund and arm their Arab proxies Hamas and Hezbollah purely for the purpose of committing terrorist acts against the Jewish State of Israel who they refer to as the "Little Satan". They do this simply to get at the mainly Christian United States who they refer to as the "Great Satan" and it's diaspora of Jews who, of course, support Israel with donations. If memory serves US donations to Israel used to be tax deductible. Anyway they can't directly get at the "Great Satan", the liberal US, but they can get at Israel. So they do. Now Tehran does not care about the Palestinians except to use them as cannon fodder. This is blindingly obvious to anyone with half a brain as the October 7th assault inevitably resulted in an Israeli response and Palestinian deaths in Gaza and Lebanon. Needless to say the very last thing Tehran wants is a settlement in Palestine. They would like the current status quo of terrorist acts committed against Israel by their proxies to continue for the foreseeable future... There's nothing "holy" about it. You accuse others of "mental gymnastics" when you clearly should be exercising some of your own...
