Karma
At least 62 people were killed and 30 injured when a crane crashed into the Grand Mosque of Mecca today. The incident in Saudi Arabia occurred as hundreds of thousands of Muslims gather from all over the world for the annual hajj pilgrimage set to begin later this month. The Grand Mosque, or Great Mosque of Mecca, is the biggest mosque in the world and surrounds Islam's holiest place, the Kaaba, in the city of Mecca. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3231117/At-62-people-dead-crane-collapses-Grand-Mosque-Mecca.html Sad news. I wonder what the reaction will be in the Islamic world.

thebees
Whilst of course I am concerned for the dead and injured, that building is absolutely beautiful and oh, the damage About that news article, it opens with a line about social media and focuses more on the personal tragedies rather than addressing the facts. What actually happened? It's mad "Facebook says...", "87 people dead.", uncomfortably vivid descriptions of people's injuries, where is the news? Tomorrow they'll have pictures of the thousands of flowers and beads that are left there and maybe interview a few people who lived down the road from someone who died, bah!
