I would want someone on criminal charges. This also makes it harder to play the "we're the good guy" card when we are illegally renditioning people, sending them to so called "rogue states" (that we later invade/Arab Spring because they are mean to people), and then torturing them for years. this is what happens with a labour gov...... the stinking enigma
The pulitzer prize winning journalist seymour hersh has an autobiography out. Worth a read i'd say. The review sort of led me to this but i suppose one could also blame the england football team reverting to type in the second half. Anyway, it was known by US and british intelligence more than 10 years ago that al nusra had access to chemical weapons. For al nusra read white helmets https://www.lrb.co.uk/v36/n08/seymour-m-hersh/the-red-line-and-the-rat-line

the stinking enigma
As heroes no less. After being basically a western entity surviving amongst isis and al nusra. But it became too dangerous once the syrian regime (c) turned up. The same syrian regime that has defeated our mortal enemy isis. Makes perfect sense. Lxxx
White helmets/al Nusra/ISIS/Al Qaeda.....it's all the same. The names change but the players behind them stay the same. It's only politics and propaganda that determine what they'll be called next.
Freggyragh
Lxxx, that disinformation campaign by Russia Today, Assad and the Alt-Right has been discredited time and again. The White Helmets haven’t been implicated by any credible source in any systematic acts of war or terror. Putin and Assad hate them because they documented their war crimes. If the White Helmets were affiliated with anyone it is the governments and NGOs that trained and funded them; the British, other Europeans, the Turkish, the UAE, the US and Japan, or their rescuers; the Israelis. Isis were driven out of Falluja, Ramadi, Tikrit, Mosul and Raqqa by the US and allies (notably; the Turks, the Kurds, the Iraqis and, the Iranians and Hezbollah). Assad and the Russians were only one faction fighting Isis in Syria. It’s all a bit more complicated.

Aah the 'Alt-Right' again. Get everywhere those buggers don't they. Any bit of information or investigative journalism that throws up a different narrative than the one parroted by the media is by default Russian or Alt Right. Gotcha. the stinking enigma
Uh oh. Looks like we care about syrians again. Sounds like another job for the white helmets. Nikki Haley @nikkihaley All eyes on the actions of Assad, Russia, and Iran in Idlib. #NoChemicalWeapons Quote Tweet Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump President Bashar al-Assad of Syria must not recklessly attack Idlib Province. The Russians and Iranians would be making a grave humanitarian mistake to take part in this potential human tragedy. Hundreds of thousands of people could be killed. Don’t let that happen! 12:29 am · 4 Sep 2018
