Donald Trump

Donald Trump is clearly an anti-establishment president which is why the full psych-op and information warfare is being waged against him by the INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONS who own the mainstream media. I mean, people do realise the media isn't neutral or fair; that it's owned by private international corporations who have vested interests? Why, oh why, would they continue to put forth so much negative spin and propaganda against President Trump if he was an "establishment" figure? He is kicking their butts and I think it's splendid. Ralph Nader wrote a book a few years ago pretty much saying that it would take a billionaire (or multi-millionaire -- I frankly don't care about his real net worth) to take on the establishment and run for president in even a remotely meaningfully independent way. I don't agree with Trump on many of his policies but he's a lot better than that establishment whore, Hillary Clinton.

They just do the establishment's bidding so nobody notices that the president really doesn't have the power. If the president's agenda coincides with that of the establishment nobody notices. If it doesn't, who is going to prevail? Not the president.

I agree with where you're coming from but the President does have considerable power at his disposal.

Not enough to overcome the forces ranged against him. Study the events of the past months. He has executive powers but when he has the entire ranks of the establishment ranged against him he cannot overcome the overwhelming deluge of rubbish heading his way in the form of negative reporting, false accusations of foreign collusion, false accusations of all kinds of wrongdoing stopping short just of anything actionable, briefing against members of his administration etc. It is totally unworkable and that isn't an accident. They report on nothing that the administration does. They are only interested in stirring the pot against it. No organisation can operate properly under such pressure. It has been a massive witch hunt by the liberal elite.

I have somewhat more faith in him. I actually believe Donald Trump is a genius of the highest possible quality. He is literally a 20th/21st century Niccolo Machiavelli. All this "deluge", as you so accurately call it, is beginning to backfire. It is like watching David versus Goliath. At every turn, it looks like he's losing, only for it to slam right back in their faces. It is truly beautiful to watch. He has achieved some amazing things yet none of them are reported. He doesn't care. And why should he? Nobody trusts the media anymore. The mainstream media in America is completely desperate.

Here's a case in point:

The media make out that Trump ignores a disabled child. Full video shows he actually went immediately to the disabled child to shake his hand. Things like this, while ostensibly it may appear as though they are a defeat for the President, ultimately people, with ready access to social media /YouTube/etc/, including the mother of the child in question going on Facebook to set the record straight, all serves to make it clear to the American people that the media are liars and this further goes to strengthen their trust in Trump.

You should hand that medication back, save Kate Beecroft having to take your granny's eye test cash and money for her new dentures.

I agree. And not only a genius but also a brilliant actor. Who else could appear to be quite so completely useless, so convincingly - such that everything he pretends to say he is going to do doesn't actually happen? Only a genius could have the chutzpah to lie so unconvincingly about all of the things he is never going to do and make people believe and cheer him. And that whole thing of pretending to be quite so thin skinned, self centred, egotistical and shallow. Clearly the double bluff. He is clearly a great human.

Aww man, I hate huffpo but this has a cracking example of a crazy Trump speech from last year (I pasted the speech below in it's entirety - I was laughing so hard)

Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.

This is one of my favourite interviews. Over-dubbed in the Sassy Trump voice. Here he is unable to stop himself from talking about where all the bibles go that he gets sent. He keeps them. In a very nice place. Because there is no way he would do anything other than very positive to a bible. Like throw them away.

Do listen to the Radio 4 programme, Stinky.

When a planned economy enforces price controls below the cost of production it doesn't require much outside meddling for its economy to collapse.

Venezuela's economy system is dysfunctional that is down to the reality of socialism far more than US interference.

How do you think they are interfering?  As far as I understand it they buy 40% of Venezuelan oil. Strange way to destabilise a country buying billions of dollars of their oil.
