To be fair the shooter is much more likely to be a Secret Service stooge in classic Lee Harvey Oswald style as it’s clear that neither the FBI or the CIA want a batshit crazy lunatic back in the White House. It was clear going back months that an assassination attempt wasn’t going to be beyond the bounds of the possible as the nasty deranged dialogue he and other MAGA mental cases like Marjorie Taylor Greene and others have been stirring up, and the havoc they’re causing within the political system, was highly likely to result in someone (anyone) getting shot or stabbed. The collateral damage to people in the Trump orbit has been extreme. Even at the first day of Trumps false accounting trial in NYC some lunatic set himself on fire outside the Court after distributing conspiracy pamphlets. There has been genuinely mental stuff happening around Trump, facilitated by Trump and his team, since at least the January 2021 storming of the Capitol Building. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68863157 No e of this should come as any surprise. That is some shit posted there. Do you think that the CIA/FBI would pick a shooter with no skills whatsoever...

P.K.
On 6/18/2024 at 11:46 PM, woolley said: ...the USA, the most successful democracy on Earth... @woolley Now you're having a laugh! Florida judge dismisses criminal classified documents case against Trump Donald Trump’s criminal case on charges that he illegally retained classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago club was dismissed on Monday after a federal judge sided with the former president and ruled that the special counsel who brought the prosecution had been improperly appointed. The stunning decision by Aileen Cannon, the US district judge appointed by Trump, found that the appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel violated the US constitution as he had not been named to his post by the president or confirmed by the Senate. Democrats react to dismissal of Trump classified documents case: ‘breathtakingly misguided’ Cannon effectively ruled that there was no statute that authorized a special counsel to bring charges in the Trump case, and previous court rulings – including by the US supreme court in the landmark Richard Nixon case – were not binding on her decision. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/15/judge-dismisses-trump-classified-documents-case Essentially the US judicial system is fatally flawed by appointments being exclusively political. As demonstrated by the above. That's how a convicted felon can get away with endangering State Security because of a judge who cares more about her career and politics than the reason she's actually in post for... The Phantom
There's a lot of kicking off, blaming the Secret Service for a lapse in security, demanding the Director resign. Their remit is "protecting U.S. political leaders, their families, and visiting heads of state or government". Remember, Trump is a former president. They get a security detail, but on the light side compared to POTUS. Plus, despite what we all know/fear, he hasn't even been confirmed officially as the Republican candidate yet! Do you honestly believe that? I mean if you do surely there would be a lot easier ways to get rid of a bloke pushing 80 and who if assassinated would send his supporters a lot of whom are unhinged anyone into rioting than finding some kid who can't aim straight.

I was thinking this, he is obviously no longer the president so I thought the security would need to have been sorted by him/his team. If reports are true that people were pointing the shooter out for the best part of 30 minutes then heads should roll

Very reminiscent of Ted Cruz, who oddly enough flip flopped on his opinion of Trump when his own failed election run failed and needed to bend the knee to the new Orange Overlord

I was under the impression it was only a couple of minutes and this was probably something to do with the awful aim, it was pretty rushed. It seems he was also disturbed by a Police Officer trying to climb up onto the roof seconds before the shot. That police officer seems to be in for some flack too, lots of people saying why did he back off/duck? But seems he was literally getting a foot up onto the roof from a colleague, both hands were occupied trying to pull himself up, didn't/couldn't have had a gun in hand. I believe it’s plausible yes. Equally it’s plausible that Trump staged the whole thing to boost his victim complex. That said it was very, very, close and a 20 year old shooter is unlikely to be that good if he was relying on a nick to the ear from 150 yards away. Do you honestly think it plausible that Trump could convince some bloke to take a shot at him in the knowledge that he would most likely be killed? The most plausible theory is quite simple, a loner who is bullied at school has easy access to guns and wants to do something to make himself infamous, sometimes these people go into schools or crowded areas and other times they try and take out a celebrity.
