Taking Pride In The Raj.

Britain did good and bad, but the overall outcome is positive with a strong and relatively peaceful India.

The Raj was not only modern India. It also included Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and more.

Yes. 1947 partition was a bad idea, but by then the lunatics were taking over the asylum.

One of the reasons the Raj worked so well was because of the Indian Caste system. It meant their society was already structured much as the British class system was. The British understood that only too well and promptly put themselves up as the top tier.

Yeah. Standard Guardian stuff. We hate us.

We weren't a holy saint like nation who did things out of some altruistic need...

No just someone who speaks the truth. The British Empire started off for the wrong reasons (money) but later on when Britain became more of a democracy the empire really was all altruistic and about civilising the world. The only reason it ended was because we were spending so much money on making other countries better that we started running out of money. We have a lot to be proud of.
