But you have shown basically no understanding of the development of gay rights in China and were factually wrong in what you said. The U.K. used to jail and chemically castrate homosexuals. Luckily society changed. In a similar way in the specific area of LGBT rights China has made huge progress in the last few decades. Elsewhere it is an oppressive and violent society I agree but no they do not execute people for being gay. Your typical insulting and sweeping statements are noted. Colonialism wouldn't have made any difference. It's a hang over of British Imperial legislation. Just look at the map; especially Africa and the Caribbean - here's a Washington Post article discussing it. There are quite a few examples of old Colonial law remaining on statute books and causing issues with human rights and liberty now - laws on sedition, free speech, and homosexuality are pretty clear examples with current governments using British colonial era statutes to be oppressive.
