Given the published accounts and balance sheet it’s not likely to run out of money any time soon. Its private proprietors who run propaganda sheets. As for tax dodge, well it was tax efficient planning, giving the paper away aa a life time transfer. Pretty altruistic really. The trust appoints editors, and doesn’t interfere with editorial policy. Guardian editors are in post for incredibly long periods by comparison to the editors of other papers who get sacked by proprietors frequently. Not the Scotts (who are no longer trustees). The trust was not set up to "continue the narrow political views of the family" (Woody's calumny). It was set up to preserve editorial independence. The open minded accept that they are sometimes mistaken and are gracious when corrected. At its worst it’s just the tedious bleating of unformed minds trying to spread the fear and hatred they are programmed to spew by their own twitter feeds and facebook accounts.
