Jediism is not a religion.

In its ruling the Charity Commission said there was insufficient evidence that "moral improvement" was central to the beliefs and practices of Jediism.

It also noted the Jedi Doctrine can be accepted, rejected and interpreted by individuals as they see fit.

The commission said to be classed as a religion it must have a positive beneficial impact on society in general.

The Force is with me and I am one with the Force.

I can totally see in a few hundred years the wars that are fought in its name as people forget it was just movies, books and cartoons but have grown up with "May the Force be with you"

The Force is a concept, in the same way Karma is.

Sith and Jedi are different practitioners of the abilities that a connection to the Force brings.

It is the individuals attachment to the Force that implies religion.

So it is a misconception to call Jedi a religion. A follower of the Force would be a more accurate description.
