Don't really care whose photo it is (who 1880?), that isn't the point.

Come on then, if you do know, how many (exact number please) people were there? I reckon at somewhere between 250,000 and 500,000 (certainly not a million) but its pure guesswork. Really interested to know how you know exactly how many were there?

you need to learn how to count.....

Eh?

Worst summer weather for ages and no Ashes series. Dismal.

OK, they did all right in the Olympics but so what?

I was thinking about the opening ceremony being a celebration of British Culture, institutions like the NHS, multiculturalism and then followed by diverse people from all over the islands achieving stuff.

I like to put simple £numbers around stuff just to get a broad picture.

1992 -> 2017 GDP GROWTH IN USD Tn

GER  2.12 -> 3.68 diff 1.56 =  + 74%

FRA  1.40 -> 2.58 diff 1.18 = + 84%

ITA   1.32 -> 1.94 diff 0.62 = + 47%

UK    1.18 -> 2.62 diff 1.44 = + 122%

Dear me.

What has the EU ever done for us?

Good job we're leaving.....

Come on Mr Cummings we all know that you want to make the general election about brexit and make it people v parliament with BJ the Champion of the people.

I presume the one "remaon" you are referring too is Julian Smith (Norther Ireland Secretary).  Given his position one might expect that he is concerned that BJ's deal leaves NI tied to the EU and risks seeing the prospect of Irish reunification being put forward as a solution.

As for BJ asking Macron to veto an extension.... well it is entirely possible.  It would be interesting to see how French state owned businesses such as EDF and Airbus along with the likes of Bouygues, Total,  Saint-Gobain etc might react to such a decision given their business interests in the UK.
