1. The U.K. is not China. 
2. Disputes take a very long time, if ever to resolve through WTO - but there is a process, and the process can be very damaging. When one country claims that another is in breach of WTO rules and claims its cost them £XB in lost trade they aren’t looking for monetary compensation, they are looking for concessions on trade terms. Educate yourself.
