Well we're it not for very considerable quantitative easing by the ECB along with other such tools the EU would be well on the way to hell n a hand basket already. Instead we have been having to release gilts just to provide the money from our "contribution" to sorta keep it afloat. Just look at the blind panic from Germany at the prospect of mostly Germany having to fill the hole we are leaving behind to see the scale of the true cost of our membership let alone the horrible distortion on our ballance of trade because of EU tarrifs. If we crash out and end up trading under WTO tariffs - that's the reality. So how is that not true Roger?

Just examine the reality of how the WTO works. Apart from that there are going to be trade arrangements in addition to those conducted under WTO conditions. Manximus Aururaneus
Yes it will, no it won't, oh yes it will, oh no it won't............. The thread is now a dead conversation - the only thing left is money for mouth time - some simple, no waffle, hard cash up front bets held by a referee with all proceeds to charity. Man of straw or not, I'm up for it, how about the remoaners? Say £500 - £1,000 a time of when trade deals will/will not be signed? Strict dates. They couldn't be much worse when all of the membership costs, especially fiscal and political, are factored in.

Manximus Aururaneus
For anybody in doubt, this is what a real-life remoaner looks and sounds like. For God's sake somebody throw him teddy bear to cuddle. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/01/14/post-brexit-britain-will-like-nazi-germany-claims-lib-dem-peer/ 1
