There is historical precedent though when Ireland achieved home rule having previously been part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland following Act of Union 1800.

Eire exploited the position that GB was in and exploited it. It could, and in my opinion should have been handled in a very much different way.

Just seen this. The Flunkey is learning from The Master:

Journalists in Downing Street walk out after Johnson aide tries to exclude some reporters

The confrontation took place inside No 10 after Lee Cain, Johnson’s most senior communications adviser, tried to exclude reporters from the Mirror, the i, HuffPost, PoliticsHome, the Independent and others from an official government briefing.

At a time of escalating tensions between Downing Street and the media, Labour accused Johnson of deploying Donald Trump-like tactics to avoid scrutiny.

Really really piss-poor.

Basically only lickspittles allowed in to trumpet the lies to the heavens.....

never knew it was a far right paper but momentum say it is.......

This really is a stupid argument.  Moving to the EU may not be an option for many people because they, and potentially their partner, would need to quit their current UK based job, find a new role in the EU, find somewhere to live in the EU, potentially find schools etc for their kids, and also learn a new language.   Remembering of course that some EU countries restrict other EU nationals from settling without being able to support themselves.

Some people will do that but for many the change would be too big.

but is unenforceable by the ecj.......

It also highlights how poor we are at teaching foreign languages.  UK/British Isles residents are often too lazy to really learn a second language because many foreigners speak English as a second language.

by the youth that apparently support the eu:lol: and the lefty unions that apparently support the eu:lol:

the facts are coming home to roost........

learning a foreign language is at its lowest in 50 years........i blame the eu.....

And on a point of order: Boris is not my mate, although he did, finally, get Brexit done.

No he didn't get brexit done. It could go on for years and years yet and probably will.

So much for the "far sighted" brexiteers who can't even see beyond 31/12/2020 ie less than 11 months.

Laughable!

Nothing has changed - yet.

Have been enjoying "Cornwall - This Fishing Life" on the quite exceptional BBC ( You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...) and feel quite sorry for the fisherfolk. They mutter about quotas given to French boats when the truth is fish quotas have become a commodity that can be bought and sold. So they certainly haven't been told the truth about brexit. Especially the bit about having to go along with international rulings to preserve fish stocks!

But the worst of it is Gove will not admit to them that if £billions of passporting is on the tablle he will sell their miniscule 0.12% of UK PLC down the Swannee without the slightest thought for those he's consistently lied to.

We are no longer a part of the EU.

Now the going forward terms are being negotiated, actually we can and in my opinion SHOULD just walk away.

This has been a bloodless war made worse by traitors in HMG untill most were rooted out by the last GE.  This stage is like discussing the going forward stage of an armistice.  But the war is finally over.
