It's a commonplace name now given to our once great capital city because of understandable "white flight" following infiltration of foreigners and the crime that they brought. It's now horrid with filth seemingly everywhere, especially in the inner city, much worse than it was only a few years ago. On a hot day it literally stinks. On the odd occasion we do go abroad which this year we intend to we'll be using Schiphol as a hub in preference to any London airport. Please be aware that Schiphol appears to have introduced a separate queue for British passport holders. Lyon-Saint Exupery has also done the same. You may need to ensure that you leave extra time for transfers as it is not clear yet whether there are delays associated with these new queues.
